The qualified candidate will produce machined parts by setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; as well as, other related operations. This includes loading programs, operating CNC equipment and monitoring operations to ensure quality standards are met and productivity levels are maintained. Also included in this role is maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies. There are 4-6 2nd shift opportunities that are temp to hire, with working hours of Monday-Thursday 5PM - 4AM, paying $20-$28/hr.


  • Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machine tools and associated tooling to perform precision machining operations.
  • Monitor the feed rates and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Demonstrated use of precision measuring instruments to perform inspections of finished parts to ensure compliance. (To include but not limited to: calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales.)
  • Proficient entering programs and all necessary parameters into machine control (Mazatrol) of CNC mill and lathe; to include but not limited to, zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, conditional switches, calculating requirements, and proving part programs.
  • Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces.
  • Maintain specification by observing operations, taking measurement, detecting malfunction, troubleshooting processes, editing programs, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintain safe operations by keeping work area clean and organized and by adhering to safety procedures and performing basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
  • Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
  • Make required adjustments to programs and tooling as needed to maintain the quality requirements of machined parts.
  • Read blueprint and job instructions to ensure machined parts meet product specifications.
  • Responsible for supporting operators in the training of loading parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; as well as, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T), blueprints and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished parts, sequence of operations and set up requirements.
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.


  • 10 Years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines.
  • 5+ Yrs. of experience in managerial or supervisory role; responsible for subordinates
  • Experience performing set-ups, program edits, and holding tolerances as tight as +/- .0001"
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cutting tool technology, use of inserts, and fixtures.
  • Demonstrated use of measurement and inspection tools.
  • Experience with Mazak and Mazatrol controls.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • CNC programming a plus
