Responsibilities:

  • Monitor news publications and social media for news related to the Association and recommend proactive strategies for responding to inquiries and/or preparing draft responses to news stories
  • Support community outreach strategies; coordinate outreach events
  • Plan, schedule and maintain master editorial calendars as well as outreach and social media calendars
  • Assist in planning and compose, verify, edit, and distribute approved informational materials, press releases, speeches, presentations, articles, bulletins, newsletters, brochures, graphic and photographic illustrations, digital content, and other collateral concerning the Associations programs and activities; Collect and interpret informational material to support and promote association activities and services to internal and external stakeholders, policyholders and the general public; Help create highly optimized content, support engagement, and help manage organizations editorial calendars and digital platforms
  • Respond to inquiries regarding communications and webmaster requests, department policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments
  • Work with requisite media, web and social networking monitoring and analytical tools; analyze data and prepare professional reports
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with pertinent internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective dissemination of informational materials; Gather information to support and promote association activities and services to internal and external stakeholders, policyholders and the general public, including fact-finding, interviewing, etc.
  • Assist in coordination of community outreach events
  • Act as a brand steward, upholding brand and trademark standards and consistency in all projects
  • Researches, composes, verifies, edits and distributes approved information to the media, including press releases, alerts, and inquiry responses. Supports the execution of media relations strategies, including media coverage monitoring and communication, development of media lists, interview briefing sheets, wire release management, reporting requirements, and CRM updates; Monitor news publications and social media for news related to the Association and prepare reports to management
  • Perform ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Communications, PR, Journalism or Marketing.
  • Must have 3-5 years of public relations or communications experience.
  • Must have graphic design knowledge and can create graphic content.
  • Must have copy editing experience.
  • Can travel up to 25% (after conversion to full-time employment with Company)
