The Engineering Clerk plays a critical role in coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within our engineering department. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering processes and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The clerk handles routine clerical tasks related to collecting, reviewing, entering, or updating data in the GSS (ERP) system and performs other general office tasks such as scanning documents, sorting and organizing paper records, and reviewing and printing digital files.
Engineering Clerk Responsibilities:
- Produce all documentation needed for the Assembly Floor to support established schedules.
- Manage the intake, handling, and storage of documentation for Engineering.
- Produce, check, and edit all documentation and materials for accuracy and compliance.
- Assemble documents to be submitted to the customer for construction approval.
- Input critical and long lead material into the ERP system to generate purchase requisitions.
- Assist in factory acceptance test procedure documentation.
- Assemble documentation for end-of-order submittal package, including the signed FAT procedure, as-built drawings, the operations and maintenance manual, etc.
- Ensure the smooth flow of work and materials between various departments in accordance with the production schedule.
- Maintain engineering files, release packages, and production documentation.
- Enter data into engineering logs and schedules, and track the progress of work, costs, and production problems.
- Provide administrative support to the engineering team, including handling correspondence and phone calls.
- Compile reports on the progress of work, costs, and production problems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Engineering Clerk Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 1+ years of data entry experience or related office experience.
- Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role within an engineering or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of computer systems and office equipment, including a computer, scanner, and photocopier.
