IT Desktop support needed for temp to hire roll in NW Houston Area paying $16 to $18 an hour! Install, modify, and make minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems in a team environment and provide technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Install or assist service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises.
  • Load specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer as required to upgrade or add capabilities.
  • Create and apply images for PC s and stage new computers for end users.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system hardware, software, printer and operator problems.
  • Respond to client inquiries concerning systems operation.
  • Instruct users in use of equipment and desktop software.
  • Order specified and authorized equipment and supplies and track orders for completion
  • Recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems.
  • Coordinate activities of help desk, network services, or other information system s needs.
  • Monitor system and network usage and proactively detect system problems.
  • Assist in development and implementation of management information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor status of Houston network to ensure that servers, PCs, computer peripherals, network devices, and phone lines are functioning properly.
  • Replace defective or inadequate software packages.
  • Track and update systems asset list.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Customer service skills.
