Inside Sales Representative - Houston, Texas 77041

This is a temp-to-hire position in the NW Houston area. This is a long term assignment that could later convert into a permanent position. This position pays $28.00/hr. The candidate will be expected to: answer inquiries concerning products, pricing, delivery and applications; serve as a liaison between the company and the customer with minimal supervision. Will be responsible for multiple product line inquiries and purchase orders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic technical solutions and general product application assistance.
  • Work directly with customers and Field Sales to provide pre-sales application support and to generate formal quotations for customers.
  • Field general questions about company products and services.
  • Convey differentiation of company product versus competitor product to customer.
  • Lead the customer through the sizing and selection process to choose equipment that will meet their needs.
  • Follow-up with customers to ensure that the quote was received, answer any questions, and identify when an order may be placed.
  • Practice good phone skills in terms of the ability to open, manage and close a presales technical sales support call timely, accurately, and proactively with regard to each customer interaction.
  • Continue to enhance her/his knowledge of company products, applications and industries.
  • Provide backup and support for other Inside Sales Engineers and team members to maintain service levels.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BS Engineering (mechanical, chemical, or industrial) required, but equivalent experience will be considered if combined with other four-year degree.
  • 0 2 years experience
  • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment to identify improvement opportunities and organize resources to address them.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills, verbally and written.
  • Professional sales and service oriented demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mediate conflict between team members and customers.
  • Must have ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated and organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify improvement opportunities is a plus.
  • Ability to self-manage workload and prioritizes with general supervision.
  • Office setting/Cubicle, 5% travel requirement: customer office, remote location
  • User knowledge of general office equipment: copier/printer, computer, etc.
  • Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
