Now hiring a Junior Buyer for large client in Pasadena to perform daily assignments involving Procurement activities such as preparing Purchase Orders, analyzing quotations, expediting deliveries, and purchasing repetitive items where existing commercial arrangements have been established. This position is Temp-to-Hire paying $20.00/hr. starting ASAP!

Responsibilities:

  • Review requisitions and create Purchase Orders for a limited variety of material and supplies with established suppliers.
  • Expedite orders to meet production schedules as required.
  • Resolve quality issues related within assigned commodities / suppliers and obtain corrective actions.
  • Work with various functional areas such as planning, receiving, accounts payable to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Assist and or possible create various Requests for Quotations and assist in the evaluation of said bid responses.
  • Maintain necessary records and files for efficient operations and prepares reports as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Provide support information for reports on performance, projects, shortages, etc. utilizing various programs and software.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Minimum 2 years experience with procurement in a manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills
  • Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company s goals.
  • Lifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.
  • Follow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company s environmental performance goals.
  • Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements
  • Must be able to sit for extend periods of time; a minimum of 2 hours.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
  • Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
