Mortgage Processor needed for a temporary assignment into November and paying $17 to $22 an hour.

Ability to possess thorough knowledge of all mortgage, home equity and home improvement loan requirements, guidelines and policies. Projects a friendly and professional attitude while aiding members in their financial needs. Provides back office assistance within the real estate department.

Responsibilities:

  • Process mortgage and construction loans, including for investors and in-house loans.
    Process home improvement and home equity loans.
  • Input loan applications, order credit reports, run loan through FNMA-Desktop underwriting for conventional loans.
  • Order tax, titles, appraisals and surveys.
  • Gather all information to send and present to underwriting. Clear all and any conditions from underwriter.
  • Coordinate closings with borrowers and title company.
  • Process variable rate changes to ARM loans.
  • Prepare documents including release of liens for real estate (in-house) and construction loans.
    Book, fund and audit real estate (in-house) and construction loans.
  • Post payments to real estate loans. Post and pay-off home equity and home improvement loans.
    Cut checks for construction loans.
  • Prepare board reports every month and HUMDA reports for real estate loans.
  • Update Federal Reserve Tables, Closed Real Estate Loans for Releases and letters, charts and forms for the real estate department.
  • Deposit fees for the credit union and distribute funds for borrowers.
  • Send denial letters for real estate loans.
  • Performs duties relating to the Bank Secrecy Act including monitoring for and reporting suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Completes the required level of in-house certifications and training, including the annual Bank Secrecy Act course.
  • Maintains current "eligible status" on the Mortgage Loan Officer designation through NMLS (National Mortgage Licensing System). Reports any abnormal situations regarding designation to supervisor.
  • Required to work Saturdays as scheduled.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assist in pre-qualification application process and send pre-qualification letters to members/realtors.
  • Schedule appointments for formal application and take loan applications for real estate loans.
  • Close home equity and home improvement loans.
  • Answer general questions about loans and accounts (including escrow).
  • Acts as a Notary for members on request.


Requirements:

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent or equivalent work experience
  • One to three years of similar or related experience in mortgage banking wholesale or retail or related experience
  • Real Estate Loan Processing preferred
  • Desirable Traits:  Knowledge of software such as Mortnet Plus, Calyx, Focus XP and Microsoft Excel and Word, Enjoys working with the public using a courteous approach, Attentive in recognizing problem situations, Good verbal and written skills, Able to work overtime as needed, Flexible, Detail-oriented and organized, 10-key
