$18 - $22/hr
• Develops methods and procedures for transportation of raw materials to processing and production areas and transportation of commodities from departments to customers, warehouses, or other storage facilities.
• Determines most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation. Assist in development of metrics to measure carrier’s performance.
• Directs scheduling of shipments and notifies concerned departments or customers of arrival dates. Coordinates domestic and international receiving as well as shipping functions. Review the return material authorization process thru to completion.
• Initiates investigations into causes of damages or shortages in consignments or overcharges for freight or insurance.
• Conducts studies in areas of packaging, warehousing, and loading of commodities and evaluates existing procedures and standards.
• Initiates changes designed to improve control and efficiency of traffic department.
• Directs all local, national and international shipments. Handles all documentation required for these shipments.
• Directs all shipments, including required documentation, to Russia and all Eastern bloc countries.
• Other duties as assigned.
