  • Will have full charge responsibility for assuming project management of projects after receipt of approved customer purchase orders / contracts, and release by the General Manager.
  • Responsible for reviewing the project documents prior to distribution to Engineering and Quality Control.
  • Responsible for monitoring the project from detailing through the machining operation and ultimate shipping of the completed projects.
  • Work with sales to develop a schedule and sequence of fabrication that works in accordance with company's current production schedule and the customer s needs.
  • Work with Engineering to ensure that the project specifications, including company's scope of work, proposal and the client s purchase order are reflected in the shop drawings we prepare.
  • Provide project specifications and proposal to Quality Control to initiate the development of the Quality Control package for submittal to customer, as well as the Production Department, as it relates to machined products.
  • Responsible for the development of material requisitions for Purchasing to obtain quotes and purchase products with.
  • Responsible for seeing that materials are procured in a timely manner that will optimize the Production Schedule and minimize risk of material cost escalations.
  • Provide all shop drawings, cut lists, programs, templates and fabrication aids required to the machining department.
  • Work with Accounting to prepare invoices and to assist in the development of a Billing Schedule of values and project milestones for each project.
  • Provide customer updates and onsite customer meetings as directed by the sales department. The incumbent will notify the General Manager of any special tooling or manufacturing techniques required for the projects prior to beginning production.
  • Responsible for developing a shipping plan for specific large oversize/overweight loads. The incumbent will also assist in negotiating and securing the vendors to provide transportation.


  • Education, Technical or previous work-related experience in the Machining industry
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the production of detailed machined component shop drawings.
  • A working knowledge of machining tolerances, finishes, specifications and inspection criteria
  • The ability to interface with other managers in a fast-paced environment to provide the end results that make the project a successful effort.
  • A working knowledge of material to be machined.
  • A working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Tekla a plus
