Plant Controller Needed for Manufacturing Corporation in North Houston Area for Direct Hire paying mid to upper 80 s and possibly higher depending on experience. The Plant Controller is accountable for providing accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis, maintaining an effective internal control system, and developing accurate product costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Report monthly financial results for the Houston plant within published deadlines
  • Provide financial statements, reports, and analysis of manufacturing results and efficiencies.
  • Provide financial analysis to all levels of management.
  • Coordinates financial operations with corporate and local management.
  • Ensure compliance with company corporate financial policies and procedures
  • Maintain a comprehensive system of internal controls.
  • Assist in budget preparation.
  • Maintain and monitors all aspects of the manufacturing cost system.
  • Assist in establishing and approving standard costs.
  • Assist in establishing and approving materials, labor, and overhead rates.
  • Monitor and insure accurate inventory records and values.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years Accounting experience
  • Practical experience in applying generally accepted management and statutory accounting principles designed to help an organization achieve its financial goals
  • Extensive knowledge of cost accounting, including knowledge of BOMs
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents and spreadsheets
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information to managers and clients
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite of productivity tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle (or other large ERP system)
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
  • Should be able to work and interact with all levels of personnel
  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CFM, CIA, CMA)
  • MBA
