SVP of Operations needed in NW Houston area (77041) for booming project based manufacturing corporation.
Manages and oversees all manufacturing operations activities; ensures that all manufacturing operations functions are performed in a timely, cost-effective manner consistent with established operations procedures and requirements. This is a Direct Hire paying $85K to $110K per year. Strongly need candidates with Lean Manufacturing, Engineered to Order, Program or Project Based experience in addition to strong Customer Focused experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Managers who plan, organize, and direct production, administrative, and warehouse activities to meet or exceed established production goals in a cost-effective manner.
  • Supervises the design, development, and implementation of processes that increase yield and/or improve quality for all manufacturing.
  • Performs workflow analysis and develops methods for the production team.
  • Coordinates with managers and supervisors to establish production and quality control standards.
  • Coordinates with customer service managers to resolve all operational customer complaints.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains, processes, procedures, and programs to improve the safety, productivity, and profitability of the operation.
  • Coordinates with managers to address organizational needs, equipment utilization and maintenance.
  • Provides leadership, communication, and coaching to employees; cultivates a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and job ownership.
  • Ensures that operational supplies are on hand and available at all times.
  • Ensures that warehouse operations comply with federal, state, local, and/or company policies and regulations.
  • Prepares all required reports and correspondence as appropriate for President.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors company budget; oversees the management of expenses within approved budget constraints.
  • Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement through weekly meetings with managers of production, engineering, safety, personnel, facilities and quality.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by president.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Directly supervises the managers of all departments with the exception of Sales and Marketing. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include overall supervision of plant operations, interviewing, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree (B.A. or B.E.) in related field (Technical or Management) from a four-year college or university.
  • 10 years Plant Management experience and/or training; metal-working or screen printing experience preferred; 5 in a leadership capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient computer skills and ability to use spreadsheet, database and word processing software. Much have understanding of networks, operating systems and communication systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates. Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary. Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
