Rubber Shop Helper-- Houston,TX 77092

Feed or remove rubber, steel or other stock and material from manual and/or automated production machinery. Provide general assistance to departmental staff as needed. This great role is Temp to hire, Second Shift- 2:30pm- 11:00pm, paying $12-$15/hr depending on experience.

  • Place stock into hoppers, conveyors or feed stock as required for production equipment, under direction of other staff or supervisor.
  • Operate machinery as required to complete a process including overhead hoist.
  • Remove stock from production machinery and stack or place in holding area or transfer to next workstation.
  • Provide general assistance to machinists, processors or other departmental staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Ability to work under close supervision. Ability to read and understand instructions as they pertain to machinery operation or departmental tasks. Should be familiar with OSHA regulations, and able to recognize and read Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS) and Hazardous Materials Information System (HMIS) labels.
