Overview:
An electronic tester tests the wiring, circuits, and hardware of electrical products and systems. Job duties include testing, troubleshooting and replacement of defective components, inspection of previously assembled units, documentation of test results, and assembly of controllers.
Major Responsibilities:
Testing Gas Chromatographs and Flame Ionization Detectors based on existing
documentation and assemble controllers for legacy model Gas Chromatographs.
Education:
2-year Technical Degree in a background of Electronics or equivalent
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years experience with testing/repair of electrical/electronic equipment
- Basic computer skills required
- Ideal candidate will be testing Gas Chromatographs Based on existing documentation.
This testing of the GC will include but not be limited to the following:
- Digital Inputs/Digital Outputs
- Analog Inputs/Analog Outputs
- Communication via serial RS-232/RS-485
- Communication via Ethernet
- Functionality of Foundation Field Bus
- GC hardware that includes the testing of the following
- Valve actuation
- TCD integrity
- Signal input from ancillary detectors including FID and FPD
- Heater Functionality and control
- Hi-Pot Testing
- General Leak Check of each GC
- The candidate will also be required to assemble controllers for legacy model GCs
- Controllers will be assembled following existing documentation
- The same Controllers will be tested for all IO as described above regarding the testing of each GG
- The controllers will also be tested on a Test fixture analyzing a calibration mixture of gas to ensure the controller is working properly.
- Controllers will also be submitted from Client Companies for repair and the candidate will be required to troubleshoot the controllers and provide solutions to bring the controller back to original working condition.
- The candidate will also be testing Flame Ionization Detectors
