HR Assistant

Now Hiring HR Assistant for a long term temp to hire opportunity in NW Houston area paying $20-$22/hr. Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Manager, this position provides administrative support for the Houston VP/GM, executive staff, HR department, and the general office. In addition to typing, filing, and scheduling, performs duties such as coordination of meetings and conferences, obtaining supplies and working on special projects in HR and other departments, as needed Deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedules and organizes complex activities such as meetings,
    travel, conferences and department activities for all members of the departments.
  • Prepares and reconciles expense reports using Oracle iExpense.
  • Prepares monthly purchasing card reports for VP/GM .
  • Sorts and distributes mail. Drafts written responses or replies by phone or e-mail
    when necessary.
  • Takes messages or fields/answers all routine and non-routine questions and is the
    main point of contact for Lobby guests, callers, and onsite plant supplier.
  • Coordinates office repairs/maintenance/remodeling with contractors as well as
    contact person for requests involving the printers/copiers.
  • Assist with other HR functions such as onboarding, payroll, benefits, training and
    development, wellness programs, and event planning
  • Prepares monthly purchasing card reports for the HR department

Requirements:

  •  College degree in Business Administration preferred
  • 3+ years related office experience, preferably in Human Resources
  • Experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Experience coordinating meetings
  • Strong knowledge of office administrative procedures and use of standard office
    equipment
  • Proficient knowledge of a variety of computer software applications (MS Office)
  • Ability to adapt procedures, processes and techniques to the completion of
    assignments
