Receiving Parts Inspector Houston, TX 77092

Receive and Inspect purchased parts in order to ensure the accurate delivery of inventory and non-inventory purchase orders. This is a temp to hire opportunity working 1st Shift 6am to 3:00pm paying $24-$28/hr depending on experience!

Responsibilities:

  • MUST be able to read chemistry and mechanical values on Material Test Reports. (MTR s)
  • MUST have a good understanding of how to read API and standard material specifications
  • MUST Verify and keep records on incoming shipments and compare MTR s to current specifications
  • Issue material to work orders for submittal to the shop.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items and records shortages.
  • Examine production documents to ensure that all manufacturing, inspection, and outside process steps were performed according to specifications.
  • Complete Non-Conformance Reports against all non-conforming products.
  • Routes deliveries to the proper departments.
  • May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
  • Electronically receive in purchase orders for inventory items.
  • Maintain working knowledge of ISO documentation and quality requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Keep desk and work area clean and orderly.
  • Counts, weighs and measures incoming items.

Requirements:

  •  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work under a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings as they pertain to assembly of inflatable packers or related downhole tools.
  • Ability to pass a test designed to demonstrate finger, hand, wrist and arm dexterity in order to operate proper stamping identification equipment and electric buffing equipment
  • Basic to intermediate skills in MS Office products to include Word and Excel and MRP or related systems.
  • Familiarity with computer networks and e-mail.
  • Must be fork lift certified
  •  Must be able to use basic Inspection hand tools such as O.D. / I.D. micrometers, calipers, Pi tape, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
