Quality Assurance Inspector Cypress, TX 77433

Inspect and test raw or processed materials; machined, fabricated, or assembled parts and products. Will use precision measuring instruments and test equipment. This is a temp to hire opportunity paying $17-$19.11/hr depending on experience working Mon-Fri 7am -4pm

Responsibilities:

  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  •  Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
  •  Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  •  Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures.
  •  Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner at all times
  • Maintains job-related confidentiality.
  • Resolves conflicts respectfully and in a timely manner, asks for assistance from appropriate supervisor/HR as needed.
  • Communicates respectfully at all times.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; or three to six months related experience and/or training
  •  Must have knowledge of precision measuring equipment (ex: calipers, gauges, or micrometers)
  •  Must be able to analyze and interpret blueprints for machine and weld specifications.
  •  Ideal candidate will have machining background
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Must be able to demonstrate honesty, integrity and dependability to meet company Core Values.
  •  LEAN experience a Plus.
  • Perform Receiving and/or In-Process inspection.
  •  Mark items with details for non-conformance items
  •  Maintain non-conformance log
  •  Analyze and interpret blueprints to determine conformance or non-conformance of parts.
  •  Inspect, test, or measure materials and machine parts, or work for conformance to specifications.
  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
  •  Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions.
  •  Record inspection results daily into non-conformance log.
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
