 Shipping & Receiving Associates needed in NW Houston for a Temp-to-Hire opportunity! This position is first shift: 7:00a.m.- 3:30 p.m. (flexible w/ OT), paying $14.00/hr!

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Shipping -- Assist shipping manager in all aspects of shipping products to customers and vendors, i.e. Truckloads to Galvanizing
  • Accurately creating BOL and invoicing of current jobs that are scheduled to ship
  • Contact shipping brokers (truckload and LTL) to schedule material to ship to customers across continental US
  • Turn in all invoicing and shipping documents to accounting for shipments that have left yard.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure their product is en-route and will deliver when they need it Check truck once all material is loaded to ensure what is on our paperwork reflects what is on the truck.
  • Document with camera trucker information and load once material is strapped down and secured
  • Receiving -- Log in all material on paper receiving log then transfer pertinent information into Access database as accurately as possible
  • Oversee tool room personnel and receiving personnel in maintaining proper receiving procedures and accuracy of materials received. Once receiving is accurately logged into Access turn in all original receiving paperwork to accounting with associated PO's attached
  • Email purchasing on all materials that were ordered or received incorrectly with quantities and part Ws of correct parts to replace what was received from vendors
  • Follow up with purchasing on materials needed that were incorrectly shipped or ordered for shop operations to ensure they are being delivered in a timely manner
  • Verify all materials received based on company PO
  • Forklift Duties - Assist as needed with loading and unloading of material when primary forklift drivers are unavailable
  • Warehouse Maintain accurate location of all materials to ensure timely material checkout
    Accurately check out to various shop departments all outbound material leaving warehouse
  • Oversee tool room personnel and receiving personnel in properly categorizing and shelving all inbound material once received.Oversee tool room personnel in ordering warehouse supplies ensuring what is ordered is what is needed
  • Kit/pack material received accurately based off of prints
  • Assisting and overseeing yearly inventory of all warehouse, yard and shop material
  • Oversee cleaning and organizing warehouse in order to maintain smooth flow of material and shop personnel
  • Track down missing hardware that is needed for packing and shipping EMI material
  • Sit in on hiring process of new receiving associates
  • Walking yard to ensure material that needs to be brought in at night is properly stored and locked up at end of shift
  • Ensure back gate and saw shop is closed and locked at end of shift
