Supply Chain Analyst-- Houston, TX 77036
Long term contract (approximately 6 months), possible Temp to Hire opportunity. Our client is a global company headquartered in Houston, Texas and is a top provider of innovative solutions in engineering and design. Payrate is $25-$28 per hour, depending on experience.

Supply Chain Analyst is to coordinate, plan and assist with activities that support Supply Management efforts to acquire material of the highest quality at the total lowest cost. Optimize reporting to identify areas of improvement in Quality, Delivery and Cost. Define and develop standard work for key, processes in order to maximize productivity. In addition, this person will be responsible for managing and presenting key productivity metrics along with being an SME for SAP.

  • Analyze spend and perform detailed supply market analysis for Supply Management team
  • Lead data harmonizing effort
  • Create standard reporting templates
  • Develop and document common processes
  • Track results for supply management team
  • Apply e-business and computer technologies to improve job efficiency
  • Lead/assist material cost reduction projects
  • Assist in supplier lean initiative
  • Development of SharePoint to improve cross-divisional communications
  • SME for SAP - analyzing spend, savings and other supply metrics


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related degree
  • Minimum 1 year purchasing/supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or operations in a medium to large company preferred
  • Ability to use strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to operate effectively at all levels within the organization and with suppliers
  • Capable of handling many priorities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Personal computer and related software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Skills in managing multiple tasks/projects along with the ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Project management skills to: Develop realistic plans, action steps, and timetables for projects and assignments, Coordinate work with other groups, Handle multiple demands and competing priorities
  • Ability to contribute knowledge and information to group discussions, especially in the problem solving process
