3 Temp-to Hire Structural Welders needed!!!! First Shift 6:00am-3:30pm, paying $18-$20/hr depending on experience. Must be able to work overtime as required!

Responsibilities:

  • Produce fillet welds in the 3F position
  • Produce complete penetration joint welds in the 2G position
  • Operate Air Arc gouging equipment
  • Set up and adjust welding machine Voltage and Amperage according to company Weld Procedures Specifications (WPS)
  • Perform minor maintenance of welding machines and wire feeder
  • Read and interpret welding symbols
  • Read and interpret welding gauges and tape measure
  • Produce quality welds that meet the company quality requirements and applicable welding code
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
  • Work in a safe and conscientious manner

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be reliable and come to work every day on time, as scheduled
  • 3 years experience welding flux core
  • Must have own basic tools (welding shield, chip hammer, wire brush)
  • Must be able to pass weld certification test 3F Fillet, 3G plate using flux core on 1 steel plate
  • Must be able to produce weld capable of passing UT and XRAY examinations
  • Ability to understand Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)
  • Obey company safety policies, and work in a safe manner
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have the ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods of time
  • Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders and scaffolds, and be able to operate scissor lifts and other work platforms as required
  • Must be able to wear all required company issued safety equipment for up to 10 hours per day
  • Will be responsible for self-inspecting welds upon completion prior to Quality department inspectors using visual and weld gauges inspection tools
  • Must be able to operate basic hand and power tools safely such as grinders, drills, track torch, air chippers, ECT
  • Must be experienced operating overhead cranes
  • Must be able to flame-cut and pre-heat using OXY FUEL torches
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Additional Experience or Knowledge which may be beneficial:

  •  Sub Arc Welding (SAW)
  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
  • Heat straightening
  • Plasma cutting
  • Previously attended or currently attending an official welding trade school
  • Fitting and layout
