Machinist III
Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $30.00+ (depending on experience)
Day Shift: 8a-5p (OT Flexible occasional evenings and weekends)
General Overview:
Operate machines with minimal input from supervision.
- Knowledge of inspection tools and their use
- Read blueprints and process control plans.
- Responsible for all daily documentation for any equipment operated.
- Material handling
- Operation of cranes and Forklifts
- General maintenance on equipment
- General shop upkeep, inside and out
- Additional responsibilities of a Machinist II:
- Operate all equipment, CNC or Manual, to produce quality parts.
- Make any machine setup or tooling change over.
- Complete knowledge and understanding of all inspection and gauging tools, ability to complete informational and in process inspections.
- Assist in tooling design for future jobs.
- Trouble shoot machines and CNC programs for problems and inefficiencies.
- General maintenance on equipment
- General shop upkeep, inside and out
- Inventory control of machining consumables
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional responsibilities
- Advanced operation of machines with the ability to provide recommendations on machines, techniques, and tooling.
- Work with Level I and II machinists to expand skills.
- Cross train on all machines
- Availability requirements of all Machinists:
- Machinists will be available during the regular shift and on a as needed basis to accommodate customer deadlines.

Work Environment/Conditions (list chemicals, allergen, noise, heights, etc.):
This position will require working primarily indoors in a smoke-free office and manufacturing facility but may also require the employee to be outdoors on occasion.
Limited travel will be required to support offsite personnel and business projects.
Occasional assignments will require remote access and may include evening or weekend schedules.
The noise level is usually moderate. Employees will work near moving mechanical parts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Training
Required: A strong mathematical background or machine trade school is required; 3 years in a machine shop environment; Fluent in English both reading and writing
Preferred: High school graduate or GED.
Required (Machinist II): 5-10 years in a machining of CNC and Manual machines.
Required (Machinist III): 10 + years in a machine of CNC and Manual machines.
General Requirements
- To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined above for this position in a satisfactory manner.
- Ability to take instructions from supervision and get delegated duties completed as instructed.
- Ability to communicate and understand what they have been instructed to do.
- Ability to read and understand shop routers.
- Proficient with using the Machinist Handbook.
- Must be willing to work overtime when required.
- Must be able to follow any written and approved process control documents.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must have experience in using statistical process controls.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work flexible hours.
- Must be able to pass an extensive background check and physical.
- Must be dependable and trustworthy.
- Training in safety, welding procedures, drawings, shop routers or work instructions as needed.
- Technical Requirements/Skills
- Programming experience is a plus, but not required.
