SUMMARY

Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors,
pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems associated with specific production machines or
building equipment. Maintain parts inventory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.

Determine working condition of mechanical devices by observing such devices in
operation, by listening to their sounds to locate causes of trouble and through the
use of voltmeters, ohmmeters, manifold gauge and pressure gauges.

Repair or replace defective parts or create parts through the set up and operation of
a lathe, drill press, grinder or other metalworking tools.

Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.

Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.

Install special functional and structural parts in devices.

Perform routine maintenance through lubrication and cleaning of parts or machinery.

Verify acceptable machine operation by starting the device to test performance.

Maintain preventive maintenance records by entering all information related to a
repair or maintenance occurrence.

Adjust, repair and/or replace electrical and electronic pneumatic relays.

Assist equipment operators in understanding the maintenance requirements as well
as safety and operational procedures of various equipment and machinery.
