Bilingual Accountant
Long Term Temporary Role
Pay: $30.00 per hour

SUMMARY
This position will be long term contract via a temp agency. To be successful in this position, must have accounting experience with Canada accounting practices, banking, foreign currency, Canada payroll rules and laws, and invoicing. Accountant will complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices, close the month, reporting as requested and other duties. Accountant will interact with sales managers and dealers throughout Canada. Candidate must be familiar with Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations and supporting financial reporting and analysis activities. The successful candidate must be fluent in both English and Chinese (written and spoken) to effectively communicate with the Canada team and the company's headquarters in China.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for all inquiries related to accounting and finance regarding the Canadian division/company.
- Handles accounts receivable and accounts payable for Canada.
- Assist in preparing financial statements in accordance with Canadian accounting standards (ASPE or IFRS).
- Prepare and file GST/HST, PST, and other statutory tax returns as required.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support annual audit activities.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare journal entries including recurring entries for month end close and execute a monthly close according to the schedule.
- Manage all accounting files and records
- Manage intercompany accounts
- Manage employee expense accounts and reports
- Assist in preparing monthly finance reporting and finance result analysis.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring budget
- Assist in physical inventory of fixed assets, stock machine and parts in a periodic time.
- Any other duties related to accounting or as assigned and needed by the Canada business.
- Other duties also include any business needs or demands or other services such as attendance at marketing events or trade shows or events.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
- Bilingual, English and Chinese (written and spoken) required
- Minimum 3 - 5 years relevant bookkeeping or accounts payable and receivable experience.
- Understanding of accounting principles and ability to read financial statements
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and advanced skills with other Microsoft office products
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese
- SAP experience a plus
