Plant Maintenance Mechanic (Bilingual/Spanish)

Shifft: Mon - Thur 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Provide services involving the skills to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Services may involve pipe fitting; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, etc.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance services to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building system to operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts as determine during services provided.
- Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment as part of the services provided to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoist, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
- Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Include services to operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.
- Align and balance new equipment after installation.
- Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, or tools.
- Rebuild and fabricate parts as required.
- Provide services to maintain hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Readily available for emergency repairs when needed.
- Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance service.
- Knowledge of PLC’s, AC/DC motors, drives and 480 V 3 phase power.
- Communications: speaks clearly; responses well to questions; writes clearly and readable. Ensure all paperwork is filled out in clear, legible and accurate format and completed within the required time requested.
- Ability to follow manufacturing specifications and schematics.
- Must have his own tools to perform his duties.
- Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems and independently take appropriate corrective action to prevent component failures or equipment down time.
