CNC Operator
Temp-to-Hire
Shift: 1st Shift — 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Pay: $19/hr
Job Description
The CNC Set-Up and Edit Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, and editing CNC machines to produce high-quality parts. This role requires experience with Mazak Mills and Haas Mills, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform CNC operations and additional assigned tasks to produce quality parts that meet all print and specification requirements
- Interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
- Understand setup requirements and select tooling, speeds, and feeds for optimal tool life and program efficiency
- Follow detailed operating instructions, processes, and procedures
- Safely and correctly operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, semi-automated material handling equipment, and overhead cranes
- Participate in training and continuing education as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Work overtime when required
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in setup, operation, and programming of CNC Mill machines
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers (ID/OD), depth gauges, indicators, and scales
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Understanding of writing and editing CNC programs for milling and turning operations
- Strong knowledge of CNC machine setup, cutting tool selection, and application
- Solid understanding of G & M codes
- Blueprint reading skills and familiarity with GD&T
- Basic math skills required for CNC programming calculations
- Experience using hand tools and light power tools safely
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs (with assistance as needed) and work in bending, standing, or squatting positions for extended periods
