CNC Machinist
Temp to Hire
$24-$26/hr
Monday through Friday, 5AM to 1:30PM, daily overtime possible and weekend work possible
Duties:
- Operate CNC controlled metal-cutting and related processing machines and equipment. Machines and equipment included, but not limited to, turning lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, and saws for a wide range of differing materials
- Plan and perform setups, first article layouts, and execution of work according to product specifications, blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Inspect all materials, components, etc. to assure they meet the accepted quality standards
- Participate in Lean events with active involvement in Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Responsible for the safe operation of tools and machinery while performing daily tasks
- Responsible for the reporting of unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately as noticed
- Must immediately shut down production and report safety or quality concern(s) to a supervisor, engineer, manager, HSE or Quality representative
- Ensure accurate movement of inventory through their assigned area – transactions, production reporting, resolution of negatives, etc.
- Complete required inspection documentation, marking of heat numbers and hold tags
- Must employ Oracle to navigate and execute tasks to complete work orders, WIP transactions, material workbench, supply demand, and material requirements
- Perform daily maintenance check sheet
- Operate forklift and pallet jack as required for tasks
- Report unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately as noticed
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of related CNC machinist experience or 2-year degree in Machining Technology
- Qualified to operate some machining equipment alone, meets expectations for quality and productivity, can handle some setups and all documentation alone
- Must be able to understand M-Code and G-Code programming
- Effectively use email to communicate (potential) risks to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
- Must be able to use personal computer and/or workstation
- Must meet quality and production standards
- Demonstrates good interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience using forklift and pallet jacks
- Must be able to use hand tools, power tools and measuring devices such as height gauges,
calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges - Understand and follow verbal and written instruction
- Must have a professional and positive attitude as well as a passion for continuous improvement
