Calibration Technician
Temp to Hire
1st Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay: $22.00/hr.
Must have MDW or LWD experience!
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Calibration Technician is responsible for performing the calibration work for company's directional module package and/or similar products for the oil & gas industry. The individual will also record data gathered during calibration and enter the data into the system.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Unpacking the products.
- General calibration work which consists of:
- Visual Inspection
- Identifying the product’s defective performance with calibration stand and system
- Performing and adjusting calibration using the calibration equipment
- Packing the products
- Data entry of defect information, repair work and calibration data
CORE COMPETENCIES
- General computer skills for data entry
- Great attention to detail
- Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Good communication skills
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of calibration or related operational experience
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
This position requires lifting to 30 pounds frequently. Standing for up to 8 hours.
Note: The key difference between LWD and measurement while drilling (MWD) is that whereas LWD data are recorded in memory and downloaded when the tools reach the surface, MWD data are transmitted up the pipe by means of a pressure wave (mud pulsing) at 3 bits/s and monitored in real time.
