$19-20/hour + $1 differential
Job Description
The CNC Set-Up and Edit Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines to produce quality products. The CNC Operator is able to edit and set-up machines such as Mazak Mill and Haas Mill.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform CNC operations or any other task assigned to produce quality parts that meet all print requirements
- Able to interpret drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and set up requirements
- Understand setup requirements and select tooling speeds and feeds for optimized tool life and program efficiency.
- Follow detailed operation instructions, processes and procedures
- Able to safely and correctly operate hand and power tools and machinery, including forklifts, semi-automated material handling equipment, and overhead cranes
- Participate in training and continuing education
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Work overtime as required
Required Qualifications, Education, Skills and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in set up, operation and programming of CNC Mill machines
- Able to use precision measuring instruments. Instruments should include but are not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Understanding of writing and editing computerized numerical control programs milling and turning.
- Understanding of setting up and operating CNC machines with understanding of cutting tool selection and application.
- Understanding of G&M Codes
- Experience blueprint reading skills and GD&T understanding.
- Basic math skills needed for CNC programming calculations
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision in a safe and efficient manner
- Experienced in the proper and safe use of hand and light power tools
- Able to lift parts weighing in excess of 50 pounds (assistance when needed) and to work in a bending, standing, or squatting positions for long periods of time (excess of one hour)

- Effective communication skills: verbal and written (English)
- Follow written and/or oral instructions in English
- Pass forklift certifications and requirements to operate forklifts
