Job Description

Press Operator

Monday - Thursday / 1st shift 5am - 3:30pm
Temp to Hire
$16.00 - $17.00/hr 

JOB DUTIES
Tends heated presses that mold and cure rubber goods:
ï‚· Read and sign work orders before starting on the production of parts
ï‚· Prepare rubber and locate all needed raw materials for the project
ï‚· May insert metal parts in mold cavities to join with rubber during the process
ï‚· Close mold and push parts into the press or move lever to raise the lift-table
ï‚· Set timer for specified curing time
ï‚· Pull mold from press and strip articles from the mold
ï‚· Tear flash ring from edge of work-pieces
ï‚· Remove rind from molds using bars and other non-destructive hand tools
ï‚· Transport molded product from press line to trimming department
ï‚· Transport molds from various locations within the shop
ï‚· Assist in other departments as needed
ï‚· Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs

QUALIFICATIONS:
ï‚· Must be able to take instruction and follow production and safety guidelines
ï‚· Good employee relation skills
ï‚· Be able to lift up to 35 Ibs. Repetitively
ï‚· Must be able to stand in designated work space for 8 hours daily

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ï‚· Possess a High School diploma or equivalent
ï‚· Basic understanding of quality control standards
ï‚· 1 year or more of comparable experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
ï‚· Ability to read documents
