Graphic Designer/Drafter - Layout Artist 
Temp to Hire
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Summary:
Processes artwork for review by customer and engineering for manufacturing by performing the following duties.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
  • Works within Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat).
  • Placement, editing and dimensioning of artwork. Includes cleaning, placement, and scaling of images and typography details.
  • Works in architectural and engineering scales when applicable.
  • Understands typography and spot colors such as Pantone color books.
  • Adheres to customer Image Standards.
  • Determines layout templates to conform with size requirements or receives specific instructions regarding these variables.
  • Follows procedures for file management.
  • Self-schedules ongoing work, coordinates and prioritizes scheduling for task completion within a group.
  • Prepares production files for use by CNC machines.
  • Works with engineers and customer service for direction.
  • Drives efficiency methods to streamline existing process and tasks.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
  • One to two years related experience and/or training.  Familiarity with drafting. CADTools plugin for Illustrator experience a plus.
  • CADTools used for making dimension lines onto everyday artwork, similar to CorelDRAW.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with initiative and moderate level of supervision.  
  • Ability to perform at a proficient level in Microsoft Office software programs to include Outlook, Word and Excel, as well as Adobe Creative Suite.  
  • Knowledgeable of current technologies of art and layout production.
