Job Description

HR / People Operations Specialist
Temp to Hire 
$60K–$75K 

Key Expectations
We are building up the team locally and need candidates who are hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable setting up processes from the ground up.
  • Partner with Global HR on policies, onboarding, and employee relations.
  • Manage HR operations, including I-9 verification, W-4 collection, benefits setup, and employee records.
  • Own payroll inputs (e.g., salary updates, new hires, PTO, deductions) while coordinating closely with the accountant on calculations and filings.
  • Support visa-related documentation and recruitment coordination.
  • Shadow the external payroll/tax provider during the initial setup and assume ownership of HR-related payroll tasks after conversion.

Immediate Priorities (First 3 Months)
These hires will work with the external provider to:
  • Complete registrations and tax IDs (IRS, TWC, SUTA, etc.).
  • Assist in payroll setup and HR documentation processes.
  • Establish onboarding, benefits, and recordkeeping workflows.
  • Manage the smooth transition of existing employees —in-house payroll once systems are ready.
 
Candidate Profile
Please focus on candidates who:
  • Have experience with Texas payroll, TWC/SUTA filings, and HR/finance compliance.
  • Are comfortable working in a small, fast-moving setup environment.
  • Can collaborate across HR and Finance to manage payroll jointly in-house.
  • Are ready to transition from shadowing the provider to owning local HR and payroll operations.
