1st Shift: 4/10 shifts starting at 6am, ending at 4:30pm; with a 30-minute lunch and 2 breaks (morning and afternoon)
$24 - $27/hr
**NON-structural welders** Combo pipe welders are highly preferred
Job Summary: The Welder I performs basic welding tasks under close supervision. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their welding careers and seeking to develop foundational skills in a production or maintenance environment.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Completes tasks as assigned by supervisor or lead welder on time.
- Follows instructions from trainers for welding techniques.
- Fabricates or prepares parts as needed by grinding, cutting, tacking, or welding.
- Inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Assembles various components for installation on packages and installs them on the package.
- Keeps the work area clean and puts tools away when finished.
- Accurately fills out timecards and job assignments.
- Perform routine welding tasks using MIG, TIG, or Stick techniques.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and welding symbols.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of welding equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Asks questions to better understand fabrication requirements and company expectations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Welding Proficiency:
- Must successfully pass a 1G MIG weld test.
- Actively working toward passing the 6G MIG weld test.
- Demonstrates intermediate-level fit-up skills, including alignment and positioning of components.
- Produces visually acceptable welds with minimal cleanup required prior to grinding or buffing.
Technical Knowledge:
- Understands and interprets shop book drawings at an intermediate level.
- Applies intermediate knowledge of welding machine settings and aligns them with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Uses measurement tools (e.g., tape measures, levels) accurately and consistently.
- Possesses a basic understanding of mathematics relevant to welding tasks (e.g., measurements, angles, tolerances).
Education and Experience:
- Completion of at least a 1-year formal apprenticeship or welding training program, or
- Completion of a 2-year welding program from an accredited institution (may substitute 2 years of related experience for 1 year of education, not to count toward the experience requirement).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant welding experience, with no more than a 1-year gap in welding activity.
- Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
