Quality Control Inspector
Pay $25-$35 DOE
Overview:
QC Inspector reports directly to the QA/QC Manager. The jobs primary purpose is performance of inspections
and tests according to the certified for construction Inspection Engineering Drawings and Test Plan using
approved quality department work instructions, and generation / certification of inspection and test documents
as required.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

- Responsibilities are to perform receiving inspection according to the requirements of PSI purchase order, vessel
heads, shells per the certified for construction Material Requirement Certificate (MRC), They are also required to
review and approve all required documentation. - Verify Material Test Reports are in accordance with ASME codes, standards, AML, COO and MRC requirements.
- Follow PSI/Customer approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)
- Read and interpret vessel drawings, isometric drawings fluently.
- Capture all in-process changes and maintain all red line drawings
- Perform in-process weld inspection to all piping spools / pressure vessel where required using approved
engineering drawings. - Perform final weld / dimensional inspections of all completed piping spools and release to next stage of fabrication.
- Release of finished Vessels, Piping spools to perform hydro test.
- Ensure that all welding procedures are followed on the shop floor.
- Ensure welders are using the approved welding procedure for the project.
- Ensure welders are using the correct weld consumables on the shop floor.
- Report and isolate (tag) non-conforming items
- Able to read and interpret written information with attention to detail
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:
High School / GED
Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 years of ASME B31 Piping experience
- Minimum 3 years of welding inspection experience
- Preferred Experience in the oil and gas industry with background in manufacturing.
Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge Required:
- Ability to use various measuring tools, i.e. calipers, tape, scale, etc. to perform in-process inspections
- Computer skills and experience with Word, Excel, and Adobe software tools.
- Read and interpret welding procedures fluently
- Knowledge of industry Fit-up / welding standards and practices.
