Air Conditioning Technician/Journeyman
Direct-Hire
2nd Shift – 2pm-10pm (flexible to work any shift)
Pay: $38.98/hr. + $1.00 shift differential
SUMMARY: Plans layout, fabricates, installs, and repairs air conditioning systems in Commercial and Industrial applications by performing the following duties:
- Plan new or modifies installations in a manner consistent with OEM specifications and local applicable codes.
- Must have the ability to maintain and repair a variety of HVAC equipment including but not limited to Split systems, VAV boxes, Air handlers, Low-and High-pressure Chillers, Valves, Pumps, Pneumatic Controls, Cooling Towers, Chill water systems, Charge recovery and utilize all types of refrigerants with universal EPA certification.
- Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints.
- Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments
- Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.
- Inspects and measures airflow to determine building requirements.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to pass Aptitude test.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Ability to operate a fork truck and a man lift.
- Ability to operate HFC recovery system.
