Maintenance Technician, HVAC – Requesting two(2) technicians.
Temporary: Start date of December 1, 2025 - through February 27, 2026, with a possibility of extending through end of March
1st shift: Monday through Friday 7:00am through 3:30pm with a 30-minute lunch. Hours may adjust as-needed. 40 hours per week.
$25 - $30/hr
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- HVAC Technician Certification or EPA Type II Certification.
- Must have valid Texas driver’s license.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and general maintenance and installation of HVAC systems, as well as miscellaneous repairs to equipment and devices.
- Assist other HVAC staff with the performance of their duties as needed.
- Keeps shop and mechanical areas neat and clean.
- Drives vehicle for purpose of transporting equipment.
- Records daily maintenance activities log and produces periodic reports.
- Assists in annual inventory of maintenance department.
- Actively follows college, state, and federal guidelines regarding safety.
- Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to understand and follow and issue directions given orally and in writing and must be able to read and understand blueprints.
- Capable of safely operating powered equipment, such as: saws, drills, and sanders, brush hog, tractor and be able to determine which equipment to use for a particular purpose.
- Picking, holding, or otherwise working, primarily with the whole hand.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Ability to perform labor intensive work associated with facilities maintenance.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.
Working Schedule and Conditions
- Gas and electric powered tools and equipment typical in the HVAC industry, including but not limited to air conditioning and heating systems, vacuum devices, saws, drills, and vehicles.
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.
- Work is performed inside and outdoors.
- Exposure to normal atmospheric conditions, dirt, dust, weather variables, etc.
- Potential risks exist due to handling power tools, equipment, and chemicals.
- Position involves intensive physical labor associated with maintenance work and requires safety precautions at all times.
