Summary
The Inventory Control Associate is a vital link in our 3PL supply chain. In this role, you are responsible for maintaining 100% stock accuracy through rigorous counting, system reconciliation, and clear communication. You will act as the "eyes and ears" of the inventory, ensuring that the physical warehouse matches our digital records. This role requires a high degree of professionalism, as you will frequently communicate status updates directly to our warehouse teams and provide data-driven insights for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Daily Inventory Audits: Execute daily cycle counts and spot checks as directed by the WMS or management. Ensure all SKU locations are accurate and organized.
• 3PL Client Support: Monitor and manage inventory for multiple client accounts. Assist in preparing inventory snapshots and availability reports for customer review.
• Internal Coordination: Communicate directly with the Receiving and Shipping teams to resolve "short ships," overages, or damaged goods immediately upon discovery.
• Discrepancy Investigation: Research "missing" items by reviewing transaction histories in the WMS. Identify where the process broke down and assist in correcting the error.
• Customer Communication: Draft professional and timely updates for customers regarding stock discrepancies, "quarantined" items, or successful inventory reconciliations.
• Quality Control: Ensure all products are stored according to client-specific requirements (e.g., specific stacking heights, fragile handling).
• System Maintenance: Use RF scanners and WMS software to perform real-time movements, adjustments, and location labeling.
Required Skills & Experience
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or 3PL environment with a focus on inventory.
• Attention to Detail: Proven ability to identify small discrepancies in SKUs, lot numbers, serial numbers, and quantities that others might miss. • WMS Proficiency: Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and RF scanning technology for data entry and tracking.
• Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally via email with customers and verbally with the warehouse floor team.
• Basic Math: Strong proficiency in basic arithmetic for unit-of-measure conversions (e.g., eaches to cases to pallets).
Preferred Qualifications
• Equipment Knowledge: Prior experience or certification on warehouse equipment (Forklift, Order Picker, or Electric Pallet Jack) is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: A "detective" mindset—the ability to look at a shipping error and f igure out the root cause.
• Microsoft Office: Basic knowledge of Excel for viewing spreadsheets and Outlook for professional correspondence.
• Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast-paced 3PL environment where client priorities can change daily.
