POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist lead-persons in FRP production and repairs while learning the more advanced techniques of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·                Collect and distribute materials for job – grinding, painting, etc.

·                Adhere to the housekeeping by keeping work areas clean.

·                Remove and store items not being used.

·                Operate power tools appropriate for the tasks.

·                Work as instructed and adhere to safety policies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

·                Must be able to read tape measure.

·                Ability to use commonsense to carry out detailed (written or oral) instructions.

·                Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

·                Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.

·                Must have the ability to work with different kinds of people.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent standing/walking; constant communication; frequent stooping/bending, lifting and/or moving heavy package up to 75 lbs.; good vision and perception essential since much of the inspection is looking for visual defects in products being manufactured or finished products.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Occasional exposure to fumes from sealant and other finishing products; occasional exposure to high noise levels; PPE required - particularly hand, eye, hearing, and respiratory protection; very warm during summer; very cold during winter.  The plant/work area is not temperature controlled.  Work area dusty on occasions.
