Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $97,000.00 / Year
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.

Job Summary: The Mechanical Engineer II reports to the Engineering Manager, and is for providing general and mechanical engineering subject matter expertise, requirements management, technical compliance assessments, and project planning with a focus on work breakdown structures and resource estimation. This position will serve as a hands-on, subject matter expert for completing projects and initiatives across the company product portfolio – legacy, current, and future designs.
What Does a Week in the Life of the Mechanical Engineer II Look Like?
- Design, develop, and test Mechanical equipment, components, circuits, or systems.
- Advise Mechanical system integration across vehicle platforms and products.
- Advise equipment installation sequencing within a production environment.
- Advise disposition of new and non-conforming equipment items.
- Document and maintain drawings, specifications, instructions, procedures, and guidelines.
- Conduct research and studies new technologies to innovate and design solutions or products.
- Serve as project engineer for Mechanical system development, integration, and testing initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal customers, vendors, suppliers, and other third parties.
- Complete work assignments promptly and accurately.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in determining design alternatives that improve cost, durability, performance, and manufacturability goals.
- Ability to collaborate with other engineering disciplines – mechanical, structural, automotive, and certification.
- Ability to work in a process driven environment – quality, supply chain, production, and engineering.
- Experience managing tasks and multi-phase projects.
- Experience in the following engineering practices: estimation (time & cost), design and configuration development, bill of material development, manufacturing sequence development, systems design, sustainment and maintenance, and test and evaluation.
- Experience working with ERP and MRP enterprise systems.
- Experience creating, using, modifying, archiving technical documentation.
- Proficient in AutoCAD-Mechanical.
- 2-4 years related engineering experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Related technical degree with 5+ years of experience showing progressing increases in manufacturing and production responsibility.
Conceptual knowledge of custom vehicle production experience
