Molding Engineer
Pay: 110k to 130k
Summary:
As a Molding Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing molding processes for high-precision interconnect components, connectors, and related products. This role focuses on process development, tooling optimization, production support, quality compliance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
You will lead key product development initiatives and oversee implementation across various molding compounds and presses. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to support business objectives and meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and maintain injection molding processes for precision components
- Support tooling design, modifications, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Troubleshoot molding and production issues, implementing effective corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures
- Lead and support new product development and process validation efforts
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet project timelines and goals
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to process capability, yield, and cycle time
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Plastics or Mechanical preferred), or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- At least 5 years of experience in injection molding, mold design, and process engineering
- Experience with connector design and cable assembly is preferred
- Strong knowledge of cost-effective tool modification techniques
- Understanding of fabrication processes, machining, grinding, wire EDM, and molding tolerances
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical testing methods and regulatory standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, SolidWorks, and database navigation (e.g., Access)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
