Job Summary:
The Warehouse Lead will assist the Warehouse Supervisor in overseeing daily operations and ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of all warehouse activities. This role involves guiding a small team, delegating tasks, maintaining a safe working environment, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate is a proactive and reliable team player with strong organizational skills and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Warehouse Supervisor in directing daily warehouse activities, including receiving, sorting, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
Lead and motivate a team of warehouse associates to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
Serve as a point of contact for team members, answering questions and providing on-the-job guidance.
Assist in training new employees on proper warehouse procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
Monitor team performance and workflow, providing feedback to the supervisor on progress and any issues that arise.
Conduct daily safety checks and ensure all team members adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
Help maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular cycle counts and identifying discrepancies.
Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
Desire to grow into a leadership role.
