Summary:
The Wet Coat Painter is responsible for applying liquid coatings to metal surfaces and products in a manufacturing setting. This role involves surface preparation, application of wet paint, ensuring high-quality finishes, and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation**: Clean, sand, and prepare metal surfaces to ensure they are ready for coating. This includes removing rust, grease, dirt, and other contaminants.
- Application of Wet Paint**: Apply wet paint using spray guns, brushes, or rollers. Ensure even coverage and proper thickness according to specifications.
- Mixing and Matching Paints**: Mix paints to achieve the desired color and consistency. Match paint colors to specifications or samples provided.
- Operation of Equipment**: Operate and maintain painting equipment such as spray guns, compressors, and paint booths. Adjust settings for optimal application
- Quality Control**: Inspect painted items for defects such as runs, sags, or insufficient coverage. Touch up or reapply paint as necessary to meet quality standards
- Safety and Compliance**: Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including batch numbers, paint specifications, and inspection results.
- Maintenance**: Perform routine maintenance on painting equipment and booths. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration**: Work closely with other team members, including production supervisors and quality inspectors, to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality output.
- Inventory Management**: Monitor and manage inventory levels of paints, thinners, and supplies. Order new materials as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in industrial painting or wet coating is preferred. Familiarity with painting techniques and equipment used in metal manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate and maintain painting equipment. Understanding of different types of paints, solvents, and their applications.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes and adherence to specifications.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks in a production environment.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to industrial painting and the handling of hazardous materials.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
