ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Planner-II is responsible for monitoring planning, purchasing, and internal production by following standard processes and procedures. This position will ensure accurate completion dates; as well as maintaining communication with internal customers to provide constant status updates until an order is shipped. Assist Purchasing & Planning Manager in providing department data and metrics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure on-time shipment of assigned orders while maintaining quality and accuracy
Be highly responsive to inquiries from internal customers and provide regular updates on order status
Follow up orders in backlog, work closely with necessary departments to resolve potential order delays
Review and analyze new demand, confirm ship dates to internal customers, production orders
Review and plan assigned orders completely including scheduling jobs in-house and sourcing from suppliers
Review capacity to take make / buy decisions
Review documents such as production schedules, work orders and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements and material priorities
Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes
Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with management, sales, production and engineering
Short term capacity planning, workload smoothing and manufacturing scheduling using SAP
Prepare daily reports for Huddles meeting, monthly reports, and any other department data analysis that is needed.
When necessary, process customer orders by following standard processes and procedures
Resolve technical issues related to bills of materials (BOM) and production routers
Attend kick-off and hand-off meetings for strategic projects and international projects

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree or comparable education
5 years experience in a production and scheduling planning role
Must have strong SAP knowledge of MRP, RFQ, planned orders, production orders, purchase orders, requisitioning, and approval workflow.
S4 Hana experience is a plus
Experienced with manufacturing capacity planning
Experienced in utilizing continuous improvement in all aspects of the planning / procurement process
Cross-functional business team environment experience preferred
Production scheduling in a machine shop environment a plus
Solid presentation and communication skills
APICS Certification a plus
Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows including programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
