Production Planner 
Temp to Hire
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with overtime and weekend flexibility as needed
 
SUMMARY 
Assists Planners with planning and preparing production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products by performing the following duties. Support Production Control function by processing work orders and serving as a backup to the Planners; support the Procurement group by providing administrative services.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirement.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepares production reports.
  • Prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Prepares purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Print work orders from JDE as the Planners release them and obtain copies of shop drawings to be included in the job packet.
  • Maintain a log of work orders released to Material Control for tracking purposes.
  • Support shop floor in reprinting lost job packets and parts lists.
  • Become familiar with the Production Planning process and develop skills to support a backup role for planners.
  • Support Purchasing with needed filing and clerical support required by Buyers.
  • Print Production Labels as required for labeling of Inventory Items manufactured.
  • Become familiar with the Purchase Order process and develop skills to support a backup role for Buyers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MS Office experience: Excel, Word and Access
