Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Systems Developer with strong experience in Microsoft Access, SQL, and VBA to design, develop, and maintain custom ERP, inventory control, and production management tools. This role will be critical in streamlining operations. integrating data across departments, and ensuring accurate, real-time reporting for decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in database development and programming, paired with a practical understanding of business workflows in manufacturing. production, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop. and maintain Microsoft Access databases for ERP, inventory, and production systems.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and reports for efficient data retrieval and analysis.
• Build and customize VBA applications to automate workflows, reporting, and system integrations.
• Analyze existing business processes to identify areas for automation, improvement, and system scalability.
• Collaborate with production, operations, and management teams to understand requirements and deliver effective system solutions
• Maintain data integrity, perform troubleshooting, and ensure security of ERP and inventory databases.
• Provide training and technical support to staff on system use and reporting
• Document database structures, customizations, and workflows for long-term maintainability.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in Microsoft Access development (forms, reports, queries, modules).
• Strong knowledge of SQL (MS SOL Server, MySQL, or similar) for queries, reporting, and integrations.
• Proficiency in VBA programming for automation and system customization.
• Experience working with ERP, inventory management, or production systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical users.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience preferred.
Preferred Skills• Experience with data integration across multiple platforms.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations, supply chain, or production workflows.
• Familiarity with reporting tools (Power BI, Crystal Reports, or similar).
• Exposure to other ERP platforms beyond custom Access systems.
Work Environment
• On-site role in a manufacturing / fabrication environment
• Must be comfortable working closely with production and operations staff.
• Fast-paced, hands-on setting with direct impact on daily business operations.
