Position Overview:
The HR Generalist – Staffing & Workforce Planning will be responsible for managing staffing needs and workforce planning for the manufacturing floor. This role will work closely with production managers to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained, adjusting labor needs based on production demands and schedules. The focus of this position is on recruiting and working in partnership with third party agencies to staff and onboard contingent warehouse personnel. The ability to communicate in both English and Chinese is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead recruitment efforts for filling manufacturing positions, focusing on production line workers, assemblers, and support roles by working with third party agencies.
· Partner with production managers to forecast workforce requirements based on production schedules, seasonal changes, and special projects.
· Be the first POC for staffing agencies as to source and manage labor, ensuring the right skills and qualifications match the production needs.
· Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they receive proper training and integration into the workforce.
· Conduct NHO
· Ensure all staff meet legal and company standards, including background checks and compliance with labor regulations.
· Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, payroll, and benefits, offering guidance where needed.
· Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies as they pertain to staffing and workforce management.
· Support employee engagement initiatives and ensure that employees are properly integrated into the manufacturing environment.
· Act as backup for payroll processing of direct Company staff
· Share and assist with any other administrative needs of the Human Resources department as needed and requested. Such as: Employee Engagement duties/support
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR or staffing, with a focus on managing staffing needs in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
· Familiarity with HRIS software and labor compliance for manufacturing environments.
Skills & Competencies:
· Strong understanding of staffing strategies and the ability to manage labor needs based on production demands.
· Knowledge of manufacturing environments and the ability to align staffing levels with operational schedules.
· Fluency in English and Chinese is required for effective communication across diverse teams.
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple staffing needs.
· Proven ability to analyze staffing data and provide actionable insights to improve workforce efficiency.
· Positive attitude and team player in a dynamic, evolving environment is essential
· Being able to positively take in constructive criticism and communicate with transparency.
· Aware of confidentiality best practices and how to professionally react to being privy to confidential information will be key for success in this role!
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
· Primarily office-based with frequent interaction on the production floor.
· Requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, as well as engage in tasks such as interviewing and onboarding.
· Must be able to hear and communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment with a high volume and activity.
