Purchasing/Sourcing Specialist - Houston, TX 77041

Salary: $60K - $70K annually
Duties:
- Source, evaluate, and sel-ct suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery performance, and reliability.
- Issue purchase orders and ensure accuracy of pricing, quantities, and delivery terms.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and payment terms with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or invoicing.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, logistics, and finance to align procurement activities with business needs.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier data, and documentation in ERP or procurement systems.
- Track market trends, material costs, and supplier capabilities to support strategic sourcing decisions.
- Support cost reduction initiatives, alternative sourcing strategies, and continuous improvement projects.
- Assist with inventory planning to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Participate in supplier audits, reviews, and qualification processes as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Engineering a strong plus.
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Experience with RFID manufacturing or RFID industry procurement environments a strong plus.
- Self starter and comfortable using internet or trade publication in search of suppliers.
- Experience working with domestic and/or international suppliers
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, contract terms, and cost structures.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and purchasing software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
