Role Summary/Purpose:
The Quality Technician will be responsible for defined work or projects of incoming and outgoing products or materials for a company. In this role, you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Also, you will be tasked to conduct testing, measurements and overseeing production processes.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Be proficient in inspecting all areas such as incoming, in-process inspection, and final inspection for all product lines.
- Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
- Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
- Knowledge of QMS system and assist with document control.
- Develop reports analyzing top defect trends both internal and external.
- Measure product dimensions examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
- Perform incoming inspection on selected and identified products.
- Accurately utilize measuring equipment to ensure correct products measurements.
- Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
- Perform, document, and report out on incoming inspections on critical or identified parts.
- Assist with preparation, scheduling and conducting of internal quality audits.
- Report any accidents or injuries while on the job.
- Report any product issues to management that may affect functionality.
- Lead any other project/activity based on the business need, assigned by manager.
Desired Skills:
- Prior experience in inspection processes for manufacturing industry with a strong focus in quality
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with Internal Quality Auditing for ISO 9001:2015
- Strong data collection and analysis skills
- Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to use measuring devices
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience and 2 years of experience in Quality Control
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- Position is performed in a manufacturing facility with fast paced production environment subject to minimal weather-related variations, moderate noise levels and exposure to coolants and other equipment fluids.
- Production / Warehouse environment work with regular pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending, and other physical activities within an industrial environment.
- Position requires regular lifting, pulling, and pushing of up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs. and apply up to 100 lbs. of torque.
- Extended periods of mental concentration working with mechanical and electrical equipment requiring constant safety focus
