Summary:
The Service Foreman will be a working leader for Heavy Equipment Technicians (HET) under the direction of the Service Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring that qualified technicians perform repairs correctly and efficiently while maintaining a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Determines the status of service needed for various heavy construction equipment and allied equipment, and performs the necessary service, preventative maintenance, repairs, replacements, installations or re-building of parts to restore equipment to proper operation.
- Supervises shop activity, equipment repairs, and attachment installs, working hand in hand with Service Manager.
- Obtains work orders, determine work priorities, assigns work to HETs, advises and mentors technicians with troubleshooting and assists with completion of work.
- Assists technicians in developing skills by coaching and mentoring.
- Responsible for enforcing safe working conditions and ensuring heavy equipment technicians (HET) are adhering to company safety regulations and policies. This includes monitoring HET work areas and examining tools and personal protective equipment to ensure safe and proper usage; intervene and correct unsafe activities or operations; and providing safety education to HETs.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of shop, machine and attachment storage area, wash rack and concrete surface surrounding shop, wash rack, loading area and office.
- Suggests changes to Service Manager related to the working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop.
- Contributes to technician reviews, as needed.
- Assists Service Manager with HET interviews, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
