GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Have leadership qualities and perform several operations to pack and prepare for shipment finished product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process work orders, written and oral instructions and related data.
- Visually inspect parts at time of packing to insure quantity, quality, and proper sizes.
- Package parts in proper containers, using excelsior, paper fillers and related items to prevent damage.
- Staple or tie large rings or accessories to corrugate backing before packaging.
- Box parts in wooden containers as required. Secure containers with tape or metal strapping.
- Apply necessary labels and stencils.
- Set type and operate tag machine to automatically produce quantities of printed labels.
- Weigh containers and affix proper postage as required. Load shipments on company truck or commercial carriers.
- Perform several other duties to include building wooden crates, forming and stapling boxes, packing company mail and others.
- Use power saw and stapler, hand trucks.
- Operate stenciling equipment and banding apparatus.
- Detect and report to Supervisor defective material, operating difficulties, and questionable conditions.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years of shipping and receiving.
- Must be able to operate a Sit-down Forklift.
