Bilingual Shipping Manager (English/Spanish)
Direct-Hire
Salary: $65K
 
SUMMARY 
Lead activities of the Shipping Team in conjunction with strategic goals of the various divisions.  Compile record concerned with receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping finished goods.  Move materials to proper staging area.  Ensure on time delivery of all shipments.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
  •  Schedule work load by reviewing demand/shipping reports, utilizing computer to ensure on time shipment performance.  
  • Ensure supply inventory levels support the production schedule by reviewing material requisitions; notify Purchasing of requirements.
  • Delegate daily work schedule and organize work flow by determining the priority of jobs based on standard reporting or scheduled meetings and determining when, where and how jobs will be worked.
  • Compile data from sources such as contracts, purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, and accounting reports and writes, types, or enters information into computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping, or other records.
  • Keep back-order file in established sequence and releases back orders for issue or shipment as stock becomes available.
  • Compile stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
  • Prepare requisitions, orders, or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning new or additional stock items.
  • Compare nomenclature, stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.
  • Prepare for and participate in physical inventory efforts.
  • Address customer issues: identify and recommend solutions and process improvements.
  • Review files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
Directly supervises 12 to 14 employees in the Shipping Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3-1/2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Intermediate computer skills and ability to use spreadsheet, database and word processing software. 
  • Understanding of networks, operating systems and communication systems.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
REASONING ABILITY 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
 
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES 
  • Ability to work in a team environment with initiative and minimum level of supervision. 
  • Ability to comply with safety policies. Must be forklift certified. 
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work efficiently to meet deadlines.
