Tax Accountant - Compliance

Salary: $80K - $115K+, depending on experience
**CPA preferred, but not required**
Summary:
The Accountant, Tax Compliance is responsible for supporting the company’s accounting operations with a primary focus on tax compliance, audit coordination, and financial accuracy. This role ensures adherence to all applicable tax regulations, supports financial reporting, and maintains strong internal controls within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position also plays a key role in ERP system utilization and vendor coordination, ensuring efficient and accurate financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and support accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in accordance with GAAP
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Prepare and file company tax returns (sales tax, use tax, and other applicable filings)
- Support and coordinate internal and external audits, including gathering required documentation and responding to audit requests
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedules
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities as needed
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
- Oversee ERP system usage (NetSuite or similar), ensuring data accuracy and proper financial workflows
- Manage relationships with ERP and financial system vendors, including issue resolution and coordination of system updates or improvements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, logistics, and leadership to support accurate financial reporting
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience with tax compliance and filings required
- Experience supporting or participating in audits
- Strong experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Manufacturing experience highly preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
- Experience with multi-state tax filings
- Experience with manufacturing tax credits is a plus
